1.2.1. DATA COLLECTION CONFIGURATION


To sum up,the following diagram summarizes the sequence to set up the PM Plant Editor and build a data collection structure:


  1. Define the list of states machines according to the specifications. Listed states machines will implement in PM Design.
  2. Define the Host PC list according to the required specifications.
  3. Define the Netbox according to specifications.
  4. Define the terminals according to specifications.


Once the system definition is complete,you can create the ProMan(PMP) project using the PM Design module (which we will see in the next chapters).When you complete the previous steps,you can switch to PM Monitor setup when the communication service starts with the terminals.



1.2.2. INTERFACE


Let's now look at the PM Monitor interface in detail. Pm monitor interface consists mainly of three pages: Status,Log and Plant. Status page shows the current situation of the system:service status,terminal and the main parameters of Pm monitor configuration. Log page contains the text of any errors and,depending on the configuration,usage data useful for debugging the state machine.The last page (Plant) has purely descriptive purpose;In fact, it displays the structure of the plant as a whole.


1.2.3. PAGE STATUS




The main display of this page is that the system connections,where we find:  


    Name of the host pc with its description.


  Netbox code and its description.


Terminal code and description,with relative status LEDs: 


  • Led Red = Terminal disconnected
  • Led Green = Terminal connect
  • Led Yellow = Receiving message


The rest of the screen provides additional information about system status,terminals(useful for state machine debugging),and other secondary commands.We now analyze these features in detail:  






On the Info page means: the selected company code (if you are working connected to a multiacsend), the status of the communication service with the terminals, the status of the remote control service (via the web, see option paragraph) And the state of the redundancy service.




The Send Message page allows you to send the specified message to one or all of the terminals. To send the message to a particular terminal, simply select the terminal itself from display. To send the message to all terminals select Broadcast. You can specify a

message display timeout through the slider.




Clicking on a plant node in the "Plant detailed info" box displays some information about  code of the node and type. Additionally, specific node data will be displayed. In the example, you can see the number of terminals connected to the netbox, the address of the netbox itself, and the interval for verifying terminal connection status.






The toolbar contains the RealTime Update text that allows you to update "Plant detailed info" information in real-time whenever a message is received.




The system display also lists the timing machines in the project



1.2.4. LOG PAGE


The Log page displays information about the operation of the PM Monitor.

Types of managed messages are:


  • Information about the communication service, start / stop time and date;
  • About uploading projects
  • Terminal information; eg .:Terminal Code - Date / Time - Current Status - Message sent by the Terminal
  • In this list, during debugging, you can also view the states that are running from running the state machine with some useful information to understand how the machine works in the state itself.
  • Run Time Errors


These two buttons allow us to:


  • Clear Log clears the logs registered up to that time on the page
  • Find we can search for keywords within the Log file.


Messages that appear in the List are stored exclusively in the computer's memory, are not saved to files. To save the contents of the List, use the Save Log menu item on the Project / Log / Save Log List menu.



1.2.5. PLANT PAGE


The plant page shows the structure of entire plant as configured through the PM Plant Editor module. The main difference between Status page and Plant page is that in the first one it describes the situation of the system managed by the host PC on which PM Monitor is running, while second is also reported by other PC Hosts without displaying the status.
